The Park Gstaad reopens as a Four Seasons in 2027

One of the grand hotels of the Swiss Alps is changing hands. The Park Gstaad, which opened in 1910 as the first five-star hotel in Gstaad, is closed for a full renovation and reopens in summer 2027 as The Park Gstaad, A Four Seasons Hotel, the first Four Seasons in Gstaad.

The French designer Joseph Dirand is reworking the interiors. There will be 75 rooms and suites, most with furnished balconies, among them 18 suites and six Penthouse Residences managed by Four Seasons, branded residences that are offered for purchase, and seven restaurants and lounges, from a modern steakhouse to Japanese and Swiss classics.

As a luxury spa resort it will have six treatment suites, two of them by Clinique La Prairie, and indoor and outdoor pools. Until it opens, Gstaad's other five-star hotels, the Gstaad Palace, The Alpina and Le Grand Bellevue, are on our Gstaad guide, and for Europe in summer the new Park will be a fine reason to return.

Where to be, every season

Four letters a year, one for each season: the Mediterranean from spring to autumn, and Beyond the Mediterranean, into the Alps, in winter. The one best hotel to book, and the events worth crossing a sea for.
