Two MICHELIN stars on the caldera of Santorini

Published

The Greek islands have their first great table in the MICHELIN Guide. On 20 October 2026 the MICHELIN Guide Greece 2027, which now covers Santorini and Thessaloniki as well as Athens, gave two stars to Lycabettus, the restaurant of Andronis Luxury Suites in Oia, a rare debut at that level, and placed it among the Michelin star restaurants of Greece.

Led by the executive chef Christos Karagiannis and the head chef Petros Brandenburg, Lycabettus cooks Greek produce with French technique on a terrace above the volcanic caldera; the inspectors singled out squid with a red mullet sauce, and lobster with carrot purée. Santorini gained three more stars, at Botrini's Santorini, Lauda and Selene, and Athens four, at Aleria, see|ds, SENSE and Simul.

For things to do in Santorini beyond the sunset at Oia, dinner at Lycabettus is now one of them. With eight new stars in all, Athens and the islands make a fine case for the gourmet traveller.
